I would use the item serial number number for that purpose, though in pharmacy it looks like it is not enough to have just one serial number to track the item. Starting from the 2019 there will even more requirements to track medical items ("serialization") to better fight with counterfeit goods.

Hello! You can mark it as closed as option. If document is connected with other documents you can not delete it so you will not be able to delete PO, as you will not be able to remove Goods receipt...
